The African Confederation of Co-operative
Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) has partnered with Visa to launch the
Financial Inclusion in Kenya and Tanzania (FIKT) project. The initiative aims to
improve the utilization of formal financial services among underserved
communities and small businesses in Kenya and Tanzania.

The Financial Inclusion in Kenya and Tanzania
(FIKT) project will use the Co-operatives and SACCOs ecosystem to create innovative,
affordable financial products and services. Additionally, financial literacy
programs will be implemented to encourage interest and engagement among SACCO
members in both countries.

The launch event was attended by several
dignitaries, including the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives
and MSME Development, Simon Chelugui, the Principal Secretary in the State
Department of Cooperatives, Patrick Kilemi, the Acting Group Managing Director
of Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Co-operatives (KUSCCO), Arnold Munene,
