MTN Benin has reaffirmed its
commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship by exhibiting emerging
startups and technology solutions during the 2026 MTN Innovation Lab Open Day.
The event, held on July 24,
brought together partners, investors, mentors, media representatives and key
players in Benin's entrepreneurial ecosystem to celebrate the progress of the
MTN Innovation Lab and its latest cohort of innovators.
Following a competitive
selection and support process, 15 projects completed the programme's
pre-incubation phase, while five startups were selected to join the 2026
incubation cohort.
The startups presented
innovative solutions targeting key sectors including education, agriculture,
mobility and real estate, demonstrating the growing role of technology in
addressing social and economic challenges in Benin.
The Open Day also
highlighted the achievements of startups from the programme's inaugural cohort,
with several having successfully commercialised their products after receiving
support through the MTN Innovation Lab.
MTN Benin said the
initiative reflects its continued investment in nurturing local talent,
strengthening the country's innovation ecosystem and supporting entrepreneurs
to develop scalable digital solutions that contribute to Benin's economic
growth and digital transformation.
