The Digital Statecraft
Academy has opened applications for its 2027 Cambridge Fellowship, a year-long
programme designed to equip researchers, policymakers and technologists with
the knowledge and practical skills to navigate the growing role of digital technologies
in government.
The Cambridge-affiliated
fellowship will focus on the foundations of digital statecraft, including
algorithmic state architecture, data for public policy and Government
Technology (GovTech).
The programme will bring
together participants from different professional and technical backgrounds to
examine how governments can develop effective approaches to governing and
deploying digital systems as algorithms increasingly influence public-sector
decision-making and service delivery.
Participants will take part
in expert-led sessions, a residential learning week at the University of
Cambridge and practical project work. The programme will conclude with a public
showcase where participants will have an opportunity to present their work and
insights.
The Academy said the
fellowship is intended to provide a collaborative environment for professionals
working at the intersection of technology, policy and public administration to
examine emerging challenges in digital governance.
Applications for the 2027
cohort are currently open, with the deadline set for September 14, 2026.
