Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, Samba Diouf, has paid visits to religious authorities in Kaolack ahead of the celebration of Maouloud, reaffirming the government’s commitment to dialogue and respectful relations with religious families.

The Minister, accompanied by a delegation from his department, travelled to Kaolack, as part of a series of visits to religious leaders in preparation for the Gamou celebration.

The delegation successively visited Medina Baye, Léona Niassène and Léona Kanène, where the Minister presented his ziars to the religious authorities and sought their prayers and blessings ahead of the religious occasion.

The visits were conducted in a spirit of humility, reflection and communion as Senegal prepared for the annual Maouloud celebrations.

According to the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, the engagement also provided an opportunity for Diouf to reaffirm his attachment to dialogue and the longstanding relations of respect between public authorities and Senegal’s religious families.

The Ministry extended wishes of peace, health and blessings to the Muslim community on the occasion of Gamou.
