Twenty learners in the Republic of Congo have benefited from skills development opportunities through the second edition of the MTN Skills Academy Sponsorship Challenge, which also generated 647 certifications across the participating programmes.

The initiative was driven by Laije Belthassar Balong, who mobilised members of his community to take advantage of training opportunities offered through the MTN Skills Academy and turn the sponsorship challenge into a broader collective learning effort.

The 20 learners received training in Artificial Intelligence, Microsoft Office 365, Google Digital Garage, Canva, soft skills and social media.

The programme was designed to equip participants with practical digital and professional skills while expanding access to learning opportunities within the community.

Following his efforts to promote participation and encourage learning, Balong has been named an MTN Skills Academy Ambassador.

The recognition acknowledges his role in sharing opportunities, encouraging skills development and supporting members of his community to participate in digital learning.

MTN Foundation Congo congratulated Balong on the achievement and highlighted the wider impact of the initiative in creating pathways for young people and community members to build relevant skills for the digital economy.
