Rwandan President Paul
Kagame has met UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany in Paris to discuss
strengthening cooperation between Rwanda and the United Nations Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The meeting took place ahead
of the International Space Summit, with discussions covering Rwanda’s
partnership with UNESCO in education, science and technology, cultural heritage
and the preservation of memory.
The engagement provided an
opportunity for the two leaders to review areas of shared interest and reaffirm
the importance of continued collaboration in supporting Rwanda’s development
priorities.
Education, science and
technology remain key areas of cooperation, alongside efforts to preserve
Rwanda’s cultural heritage and memory.
The meeting forms part of
President Kagame’s engagements in Paris ahead of the International Space Summit
and highlights Rwanda’s continued cooperation with UNESCO on initiatives
spanning knowledge, innovation, culture and heritage.
