Nigeria Data Protection Commission National Commissioner Dr Vincent O. Olatunji has received the Federal Public Sector CEO eGovernment Award in recognition of his contribution to Nigeria’s digital governance and transformation agenda.

Olatunji received the award at the Nigeria eGovernment Dinner and Award Night in Lagos, where the recognition was presented by Edo State Deputy Governor Hon. Dennis Idahosa.

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) was also honoured at the event with the Data Governance Excellence Award, recognising the Commission’s work to strengthen responsible data governance in Nigeria’s digital transformation.

Olatunji said the awards reflected the commitment and hard work of the entire NDPC team in advancing data protection and responsible data governance.

In his goodwill message at the event, he commended the organisers for sustaining the initiative and urged all award recipients to regard the recognition as a call to do more.

He also called on stakeholders across Nigeria’s digital ecosystem to strengthen collaboration, promote useful innovations and uphold data protection and privacy obligations.

According to Olatunji, these efforts are essential to building a trustworthy digital economy in which Nigerians can have confidence in how their personal information is managed and used.

The National Commissioner also presented awards to winners in several categories covering public and private sector organisations, recognising their innovation, leadership and impact on Nigeria’s eGovernment agenda.
