Corporation Limited (BTCL) has donated P600,000 raised through the fifth BTC
Francistown Marathon to six community beneficiaries supporting projects in
Francistown and surrounding districts.
The funds were distributed
through BTC’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) arm to support initiatives
spanning digital inclusion, education, health, sports, environmental management
and community development.
Francistown City Council
received P80,000 to support the installation of 150 smart waste bins, while
Tonota District Council received P155,000 for the development of a community
outdoor fitness park.
Tutume District Council
received P90,000 for ICT equipment and internet connectivity at Sebina Village
Library, while North-East District Council received P95,000 to support the
Mambo Village Wellness Hub.
Bobirwa District Council
received P90,000 for the Lepokole Village Community Play Centre, while
Francistown Athletics Club received P90,000 to support athletics development
and its daily operations.
BTC said the donations are
intended to generate practical benefits for communities across the targeted
areas, with projects addressing access to technology and information, health
and wellness, youth and sports development, environmental management and community
facilities.
