The Vodafone Foundation has
released the second edition of its ‘Connecting for Good’ newsletter,
highlighting efforts to drive digital inclusion through digital learning,
support older people to get online and strengthen programmes designed to
deliver lasting impact.
The latest edition features
expert perspectives from members of the Vodafone Foundation’s leadership team,
examining questions around young people’s digital lives and the barriers
preventing older people from participating fully online.
The publication asks, “Are
we asking the wrong questions about young people's digital lives?” and explores
“What is really holding older people back online?” It also considers “What does
it take to build programmes that last?”
The newsletter also provides
an update on the Vodafone Foundation’s largest ever hostile environment
awareness training, involving 21 volunteers from 10 countries who are preparing
to deliver emergency connectivity support.
According to the Foundation,
the training forms part of efforts to prepare volunteers to provide
connectivity assistance in challenging and emergency environments.
The second edition also
highlights the Same Side event, where athletes, leaders and changemakers
gathered to launch the next phase of the campaign.
The Vodafone Foundation is
inviting readers to access the full ‘Connecting for Good’ newsletter and
subscribe to receive future editions directly by email.
