The United Nations
Development Programme (UNDP) Ghana, in partnership with the Ministry of
Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has launched a three-day
Digital and AI Champions Training for Government aimed at strengthening digital
transformation across Ghana’s public sector.
The training brings together
50 public officials from government institutions to strengthen their knowledge
and practical skills in digital governance, data management, artificial
intelligence (AI) and digital public infrastructure.
According to UNDP Ghana, the
initiative builds on earlier AI capacity-building efforts for government
ministers and seeks to equip public officials with the skills needed to support
digital transformation in government institutions.
The training forms part of
the Accelerating Public Sector Digital Transformation through Capacity Building
programme, funded by the Government of Japan.
The year-long project seeks
to equip public servants with the skills to drive digital innovation, promote
responsible AI adoption and improve public service delivery.
