King Mohammed VI has appointed Ahmed Rahhou as Morocco’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation and Administration Reform in the new government led by Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, replacing Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni.

The King chaired the appointment ceremony on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, where members of the new government were sworn in before the Sovereign.

Rahhou’s appointment places him in charge of artificial intelligence, digital transformation and administration reform, as Morocco establishes its new government structure. His portfolio brings these areas together under a single ministry.

Azzeddine El Midaoui was also retained as Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in the new government.

Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri was appointed Head of Government, while Abdelouafi Laftit was named Minister of the Interior and Nasser Bourita Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.

Other appointments include Fouzi Lekjaa as Minister of Economy and Finance and Public Performance, Ryad Mezzour as Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Economic Inclusion, and Youns Bjijou as Minister of Health and Social Protection.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the King posed for a commemorative photograph with the members of the new government. The ceremony was attended by the King’s Chamberlain, Sidi Mohammed El Alaoui.
