MTN Group has recognised teams from its African markets at the 2026 Y’ello Care Awards for their contributions to healthcare initiatives, with MTN Eswatini named overall winner.

The awards were presented during MTN Group’s Ambassadors’ Appreciation Dinner, which brought together South Africa’s Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, alongside ambassadors, high commissioners and representatives of development institutions and international organisations from across the Group’s markets.

This year, more than 6,000 MTN employees contributed over 50,000 volunteer hours to healthcare initiatives that reached more than 400,000 people under the theme “Expanding Equitable Health for Every Community”.

MTN Benin was named Francophone Africa Regional Winner, while MTN Uganda received the SEAGHA Regional Winner award. Bayobab was recognised as the Platform Business Winner.

MTN Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer Nompilo Morafo said: “Expanding access to healthcare is not only a health imperative; it is essential to education, skills development, inclusion and sustainable growth. I am deeply grateful to every MTNer who gave their time and skills, and to the health workers, governments and communities who made this work possible.”

The awards also recognised employees and teams for demonstrating the Group’s values and contributions in other areas. MTN Rwanda received the Lead with Care and Serve with Respect awards, MTN South Sudan won Can-do with Integrity, MTN Cameroon received Collaborate with Agility, and MTN Ghana was recognised for Act with Inclusion.

Additional awards went to MTN Nigeria for Collaborative Spirit, MTN Côte d’Ivoire for Best Use of Digital Tools, MTN South Africa for Most Improved, MTN Eswatini for Most Engaging Social Media Post, and MTN South Sudan for Most Captivating Photograph.

MTN congratulated its employees and partners who helped turn purpose into practical action during the year’s campaign.

The Y’ello Care employee volunteerism programme brings MTN employees together to contribute their time, skills and energy to the communities the Group serves.
