Mohamadou Diallo, Director
General of CIO-MAG, has paid tribute to Morocco’s outgoing Minister of Digital
Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah-Seghrouchni, crediting her
with advancing digital transformation, artificial intelligence and innovation
in the Kingdom.
In a message recognising her
contribution to Morocco’s digital sector, Diallo highlighted the acceleration
of public service digitalisation, the deployment of the Maroc Digital 2030
strategy, the launch of the “AI Made in Morocco” initiative and the creation of
the JAZARI network as key achievements that have helped position Morocco among
Africa’s digital innovation leaders.
He said one of El
Fallah-Seghrouchni’s greatest successes was bringing together academia,
research institutions, startups, businesses and public authorities around a
shared long-term vision of using knowledge and innovation as drivers of
sovereignty and development.
“Your greatest success has
undoubtedly been to bring together the academic world, research, startups,
companies and public action in the long term around a common vision: to make
knowledge and innovation levers of sovereignty and development,” Diallo said.
He also praised the
minister’s pan-African approach to digital development, highlighting her
support for the 14th edition of the Assises de la Transformation Digitale en
Afrique (ATDA), held in Rabat in 2025, and her continued backing of the African
CIO Awards, organised as part of GITEX Africa.
According to Diallo, these
initiatives have helped establish Morocco as an important meeting point for
dialogue on Africa’s digital future.
He said El
Fallah-Seghrouchni’s legacy extended beyond programmes and reforms, reflecting
a conviction that African countries should not only use technology but also
create innovation, knowledge and solutions.
“Your legacy goes beyond
programs and reforms. It lies in a conviction that you have consistently
embodied: Africa must not only be a user of technology, but also a creator of
innovation, knowledge and solutions,” he said.
Diallo also wished Ahmed
Rahhou success in his new role as minister responsible for artificial
intelligence and digital transformation, expressing hope that Morocco’s digital
development momentum would continue.
He concluded by thanking El
Fallah-Seghrouchni for her vision, leadership and commitment to Morocco and
Africa’s digital development.
