Modupe Kadri, Chief
Financial Officer of MTN Nigeria, has stepped down from the Board of MoMo from
MTN Ghana (MobileMoney Fintech Ltd), bringing to a close more than 11 years of
service to the company.
Kadri, who joined the Board
in September 2015 and became Chairman in 2019, stepped down from the Board on
October 1, 2026. He attended a final Quarterly Board meeting at the company’s
head office in Accra, Ghana, where the management team organised a farewell
celebration in recognition of his service.

In a statement reflecting on
his departure, Kadri described serving as Chairman as a privilege, highlighting
the company’s role in helping people participate more fully in the economy,
supporting businesses and making financial services more accessible.
“Serving as Chairman has
indeed been a privilege. Our work has carried a purpose that reaches beyond the
boardroom: helping people participate more fully in the economy, supporting
businesses and making financial services more accessible,” he said.
Kadri thanked fellow Board
members, including MTN Group Fintech CEO Serigne Dioum, for their “wisdom,
constructive challenge and shared commitment to responsible stewardship.” He
also acknowledged the management team for its leadership, resilience and dedication,
and thanked staff for their contribution to the business.

He said the farewell
celebration, organised by the management team led by CEO Shaibu Haruna and CFO
Susan Yawson, made his final meeting deeply personal, adding that their
thoughtfulness, warmth and generosity would stay with him.
Kadri is handing over to J.
Kweku Bedu-Addo, expressing confidence in the Board, the team and the
opportunities ahead.
“Leadership is a
responsibility we hold for a season. One of its greatest privileges is seeing
others ready to carry the work forward,” he said.

He added that he would
continue to offer his goodwill and support to the company, thanking MTN Ghana
and MoMo from MTN Ghana for their trust and partnership.
