MTN Fintech Group Chief
Executive Officer Serigne Dioum and members of the group's Board have held
high-level engagements in Côte d’Ivoire to discuss opportunities to accelerate
financial inclusion and contribute to the development of the country's digital
economy.
The visit provided an
opportunity for the MTN Fintech Group leadership to engage with local teams,
partners and regulators on a shared ambition to expand access to financial
services and strengthen the country's digital financial ecosystem.
According to MoMo from MTN
Côte d’Ivoire, discussions focused on the role of digital payments, expanding
access to financial services and strengthening partnerships to support the
digitalisation of public services, boost economic activity and foster more
inclusive growth.
MTN said it considers
financial inclusion a powerful lever for economic development and digital
transformation across Africa.
The company added that the
visit reaffirmed the strategic importance of Côte d’Ivoire to MTN and its
commitment to connecting more people and businesses to financial services while
creating a lasting impact in the communities it serves.
The engagements form part of
MTN's broader efforts to strengthen partnerships and expand digital financial
services as mobile money and digital payments continue to play an important
role in advancing financial inclusion across African markets.
