Startup Center’s incubation programme, offering the trainees access to
workspace, infrastructure, training, mentorship and market linkage
opportunities.
The new startups focus on
various technology fields and will receive support during their stay at the
center to help develop their innovative ideas and strengthen their
competitiveness.
Speaking at the welcoming
ceremony, the Institute’s Deputy Director General, Taye Girma (PhD), said the
institution was fully prepared to provide all necessary comprehensive support
to make the startups successful.
He urged the young
entrepreneurs to make proper use of the opportunities provided to make their
innovative ideas competitive not only nationally, but also on an international
level.
Elie Sawaya, Co-Lead for AI
and Digital Transformation at GIZ Ethiopia, said such programmes were crucial
for translating creative ideas into practice.
He assured that GIZ, in
collaboration with the Institute, was ready to support young entrepreneurs
working in the field of artificial intelligence.
During the launch event,
trainees from the first cohort shared their experiences with the new
participants, offering insights into their incubation journey.
The new trainees also
