Zimbabwe’s Postal and
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (POTRAZ) and its Director-General, Dr
G.K. Machengete, received multiple accolades in 2025 in recognition of
leadership, regulatory performance, digital inclusion and cybersecurity
initiatives.
Machengete received the
Second Best Performing Public Sector CEO (Regulatory) award at the Presidential
Performance Awards, as well as the CEO of the Year (Regulatory) award from the
CEO Africa Roundtable.
He also received a
Certificate of Recognition for Transformative Leadership from the Institute of
Strategic Thinking.
The Authority was recognised
with the Supply Chain Transformation Leader Award from the Institute of Supply
Chain Management and was named among the Top 4 Outstanding Data Protection
Authorities in Africa.
POTRAZ also received awards
for Excellence in ICT Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities and Excellence in
Cybersecurity Initiatives.
According to the Authority,
the accolades reflect its continued commitment to effective leadership,
inclusive digital development and regulatory excellence.
