Senegal’s space agency, the
Agence sénégalaise d’études spatiales (ASES), has held discussions with the
non-governmental organisation Space Explorers for Education (SEE) on
initiatives to promote space science and technology among young people.
The working session was led
by ASES Director-General Maram Kaire and focused on opportunities for
collaboration to bring young people closer to space science and technology,
promote scientific literacy and develop the skills needed to contribute to the
growth of the space sector.
The meeting aims to
establish synergies between the two organisations in scientific outreach,
training and the development of a new generation of Senegalese talent in
scientific and technological fields.
ASES said the discussions
were aligned with the agency’s ambitions to make space a lever for education,
knowledge and opportunities for young people.
The proposed collaboration
is expected to explore ways to expand access to space-related learning and
encourage young people to develop the knowledge and capabilities needed to
participate in the country’s growing scientific and technological sectors.
