As Nigeria
prepares to mark the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's
administration, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital
Economy has commissioned the National Information Technology Development Agency
(NITDA) South East Zonal Office in Enugu. The new facility represents a
strategic step in decentralizing digital governance and accelerating tech
adoption across Nigeria's regions.
The Minister of
Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani who commissioned
the office, noted the office's role in driving grassroots innovation. "This
zonal office brings government support closer to the people of South East
Nigeria, ensuring no community is left behind in our digital transformation
journey," he stated during the inauguration ceremony.

The Enugu
office will serve as a hub for implementing key digital economy initiatives,
including capacity building programs, startup support, and technology
infrastructure development tailored to the region's needs. Its establishment
aligns with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda to foster inclusive economic
growth through technology.
The Minister
confirmed this commissioning marks the first in a series of anniversary
showcases highlighting the administration's digital economy achievements.
Similar zonal offices are planned across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones to
strengthen nationwide tech ecosystem development.
