Startups took center stage during a special meeting hosted by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Digitalization, at the Postel 2001 building in Plateau. The event served as a precursor to the upcoming National Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI), scheduled for May 18, 2025, and highlighted the government's commitment to fostering innovation in the tech sector.

Under the theme "Special Artificial Intelligence," the gathering brought together young entrepreneurs, AI experts, and ministry officials to discuss opportunities and challenges in the field. The Minister of Digital Transition and Digitalization, Kalil Konaté, noted the importance of regular dialogue between policymakers and startups, recognizing their role as drivers of creativity and technological advancement. He reiterated the government's support for digital startups, citing existing legislative frameworks such as Law No. 2023-901, enacted to promote their growth.

During the interactive session, startups showcased their AI-driven solutions across various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, education, finance, and cybersecurity. The exchange of ideas and experiences highlighted the potential of AI to address local challenges while contributing to economic development.

Stéphane Kounandi, Director of Innovation, Startups, and the Private Sector at the ministry, introduced the National AI Hub initiative a key project aimed at providing startups with access to advanced technological resources, including AI infrastructure, cloud solutions, and technical support. The hub also seeks to facilitate funding opportunities to help startups scale their innovations.

The event underscored the collaborative spirit between the Ivorian government and the startup ecosystem, setting the stage for deeper engagement at the forthcoming National AI Conference.
