Rwanda's Minister of ICT and
Innovation, Paula Ingabire, has held bilateral talks with Sri Lanka's Deputy
Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne, during the Asia Tech X 2025
Summit in Singapore.
The ministers discussed
strengthening digital collaboration between both nations, focusing on
artificial intelligence development, knowledge sharing, and adapting Sri
Lanka's proven digital solutions including its globally used WSO2 platform and
London Stock Exchange trading system to support Rwanda's digital
transformation.

The high-level bilateral
meeting produced a comprehensive dialogue on digital transformation strategies,
with both ministers exchanging insights on their respective countries' digital
infrastructure achievements. Minister Ingabire examined potential synergies
between Rwanda's emerging innovation ecosystem and Sri Lanka's established tech
capabilities, particularly in enterprise software solutions.

Sri Lanka showcased its
globally competitive digital products including the WSO2 integration platform
and London Stock Exchange Group's trading system both developed in Sri Lanka
yet deployed across international markets. The discussions explored how these
proven solutions could be adapted to support Rwanda's digital transformation
agenda while creating new opportunities for Sri Lankan tech firms in African
markets.

Artificial intelligence
development emerged as a key area for potential knowledge sharing, with both
nations recognizing the strategic importance of AI capabilities for future
economic competitiveness. The ministers emphasized creating frameworks that would
enable mutual learning and joint innovation initiatives between their tech
communities.
