The Minister of
Communications, Digitization Technology and Innovation, Sam Nartey George has
commended MTN Ghana's contributions to the nation's digital landscape during an
official visit to the telecom giant's headquarters. The engagement formed part
of the Minister's broader consultations with mobile network operators since
assuming office.

During
discussions with MTN Ghana CEO Stephen Blewett and senior executives, Minister
George outlined his vision for Ghana's telecommunications sector, emphasizing
improved customer experience, operational efficiency, and value delivery. Key
priorities included plans to streamline SIM registration processes and enhance
the Central Equipment Identity Register by the third quarter of 2025.

The Minister
acknowledged MTN's pivotal role in Ghana's digital ecosystem, recognizing the
company's investments in network infrastructure and digital services that have
connected millions of Ghanaians. "Our focus remains on creating an
enabling environment where businesses thrive while ensuring citizens receive
quality, affordable services," stated Minister George.
CEO Blewett
reaffirmed MTN's commitment to supporting Ghana's digital transformation,
pledging continued investment in innovative solutions and network expansion.
The CEO highlighted ongoing initiatives to bridge the digital divide and
empower Ghanaian businesses through cutting-edge telecommunications
services.

The productive
dialogue explored collaborative approaches to address sector challenges while
capitalizing on emerging opportunities in mobile financial services, broadband
penetration, and digital inclusion. Both parties emphasized the importance of
public-private partnerships in achieving Ghana's digital economy
aspirations.
