The Konza Technopolis Board and Management convened their annual engagement to review progress and align on strategic priorities for the development of Kenya’s flagship smart city. The session focused on evaluating completed projects, identifying areas for accelerated delivery, and positioning Konza as a central hub for the country’s digital economy.

Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, Principal Secretary of the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, joined the discussions, providing guidance on advancing Kenya’s Digital Superhighway and broader digital transformation agenda. He emphasized the importance of sustaining momentum, raising ambition, and accelerating project delivery to maximize Konza’s impact.

The discussions highlighted Konza’s role beyond infrastructure, emphasizing its potential to drive cutting-edge research and development, attract local and international investment, support startups and talent development, deepen public–private partnerships, and enhance digital skills.

The strategic planning session also reviewed milestones achieved under the 2023–2027 development plan and reaffirmed the collective commitment to innovation-led growth, strong governance, and inclusive economic development. Konza Technopolis continues to be regarded as a critical national asset and a driver of Kenya’s position as a regional hub for innovation, data, and emerging technologies.
