The
newly appointed Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt,
Eng. Raafat Hindi, has outlined the expansion of digital services,
strengthening of telecommunications infrastructure, and adoption of emerging
technologies and artificial intelligence as the Ministry’s key priorities.
Speaking
in Cairo, following his swearing-in before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi,
Hindi said improving the availability and quality of digital services to
facilitate citizen access would be central to the Ministry’s agenda in the
coming phase.
He
stated that the Ministry would continue implementing nationwide digital
infrastructure development projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of
telecommunications and internet services. He described these investments as
essential to building an integrated digital society and supporting economic
growth.
Hindi
also noted that the Ministry would sustain work under the Presidential
Initiative “Decent Life,” which seeks to enable citizens in villages to access
digital services.
The
Minister said efforts would be intensified to accelerate digital transformation
projects and develop information infrastructure in coordination with state
institutions. These initiatives, he added, are intended to improve government
efficiency through advanced technologies, promote digital skills development,
and support entrepreneurship.
Hindi
further emphasized that increasing digital exports and strengthening the
investment environment remain central components of the Ministry’s strategy. He
said this approach would support the expansion of outsourcing centers, create
opportunities for the electronics industry, attract investments in local
manufacturing, and advance Egypt’s transition toward a digital economy.
