GGPEN
has participated in the 3rd Italy-Africa Space Leaders Meeting held on at the
Luigi Broglio Space Malindi Centre (LBSMSC), bringing together over 30 space
leaders from 17 African countries to strengthen international cooperation in
space activities.

The
two-day meeting, organized by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) in partnership
with the Kenya Space Agency (KSA), aligned with the Mattei Plan, which seeks to
deepen collaboration between Italy and African nations. The discussions also
anticipated Italy’s upcoming presidency of the United Nations Committee on the
Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) for 2026-2027.
Participants
highlighted space as a strategic driver of innovation and socio-economic
development across Africa. Emphasis was placed on leveraging space technologies
to support sectors including agriculture, climate monitoring, communication,
education, and sustainable growth.

Angola
was represented by GGPEN’s Strategic Manager of Complex International Projects,
Kassyhandra da Conceição, underscoring the country’s commitment to continental
space collaboration and technological advancement.
