Morocco’s
Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Digital Transition and
Administrative Reform, Amal Al-Falah Al-Saghroushni, has supervised the
conclusion of the Dakhla-Wadi Al-Dahab regional stage of the Ramadan Hackathon
for Artificial Intelligence (RAMADAN’IA). The event was held in the presence of
regional officials, elected representatives, and participants, underscoring the
initiative’s growing territorial significance.

The
hackathon forms part of the national programme “Artificial Intelligence Made in
Morocco,” launched by the ministry to mobilize local competencies and stimulate
innovation in AI. Addressing participants, the minister said the outcomes of
the competition reflect Morocco’s human capital capacity for creativity,
competitiveness, and technological innovation when provided with the right
opportunities. She also highlighted the importance of strengthening digital
inclusion and advancing what she described as spatial justice in its digital
dimension.
At
the closing ceremony, prizes were awarded to the top three teams, while the
ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting promising projects emerging
from the competition.

Parallel
hackathon activities were also organized in the regions of Laayoune-Sakia El
Hamra and Guelmim-Oued Noun. According to organizers, the three regional stages
attracted broad participation from students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and
innovators, who collaborated over three intensive days to develop AI-driven
prototypes addressing local and sector-specific challenges.
Officials
noted that the initiative is intended to promote innovation, strengthen
regional digital ecosystems, and encourage practical AI solutions aligned with
Morocco’s digital transformation objectives.
