Nigeria’s
Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani,
has concluded the Nordic phase of the Project BRIDGE Investment Roadshow with a
series of high-level engagements in Denmark aimed at strengthening digital
infrastructure cooperation.
During
the visit, Dr. Tijani held discussions with the Export and Investment Fund of
Denmark (EIFO), highlighting opportunities for Danish participation in
Nigeria’s digital infrastructure expansion. EIFO, which has committed more than
$1.6 billion across Africa, signaled interest in supporting Nigeria’s long-term
connectivity initiatives through its export credit mandate.

The
minister also met representatives of the Investment Fund Denmark (IFDK). Talks
focused on leveraging IFDK’s existing presence in Nigeria and aligning
investment priorities, particularly in sustainable and green energy projects
that complement digital infrastructure development.
Further
engagements took place at Digital Hub Denmark, where discussions centered on
data centre development, green energy integration, and the importance of a
national data strategy. The minister also explored potential collaboration with
CAISA – Danish National Centre for AI in Society, emphasizing shared interests
in responsible artificial intelligence deployment.

The
visit concluded in Copenhagen with a meeting between Dr. Tijani and Denmark’s
Acting Minister of Digital Affairs, Christina Egelund. Discussions covered AI
industry development, public sector digital adoption, citizen trust in digital
services, and talent exchange initiatives.
According
to the minister, the engagements reinforced Denmark’s view of Nigeria as a
strategic partner and strengthened international support for Nigeria’s digital
transformation agenda, including expanded collaboration on digital skills and
emerging technologies.
