The
M-PESA Foundation has marked International Women’s Day by reviewing and
celebrating the achievements of its Wezesha Mama Program, which has been
supporting women’s groups across Kenya since its launch in June 2025.

The
program aims to empower women with the skills, tools, and opportunities
necessary to grow their businesses and positively impact their communities. As
part of the commemoration, participants took part in a full day of training
covering digital financial tools such as Ziidi, Tunza Mapato, Taasi Pochi, and
Fuliza Biashara, alongside broader sessions on economic empowerment and
entrepreneurship.
Organizers
highlighted that the initiative is not only fostering business growth but also
nurturing women leaders and strengthening local communities.

The
foundation emphasized that empowering women through programs like Wezesha Mama
contributes to broader social and economic development, reinforcing the
principle that when women succeed, communities thrive.
