The
women’s association of Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications et des
Postes du Sénégal (ARTP) has donated 70 digital tablets to outstanding pupils
in the municipality of Fatick as part of activities leading up to the
celebration of International Women’s Day.

The
initiative, led by the Amicale des Femmes de l’ARTP (AFARTP), targeted the
best-performing students in the CE2 and CM1 classes from several elementary
schools within the municipality.
The
handover ceremony took place at the Fatick town hall and was attended by the
mayor, Matar Ba, the Secretary General of the Academy Inspectorate, Mbacké
Thioune, as well as school directors, teachers, and parents of the
beneficiaries.
According
to the organizers, the donation forms part of AFARTP’s ongoing efforts to
support digital inclusion and encourage academic excellence among young
learners, particularly girls. The association noted that the initiative is
intended to strengthen access to digital learning tools while motivating
students to maintain strong academic performance.
AFARTP
indicated that the donation builds on earlier interventions aimed at supporting
education, recalling a similar initiative previously carried out for students
at the vocational training center in Kédougou.

Through
the gesture, the association reiterated its commitment to promoting education,
digital access, and opportunities for young girls, while contributing to
efforts to strengthen the education system in the Fatick Region.
The
initiative also aligns with the broader vision of ARTP, which places digital
and social inclusion among the key pillars guiding the country’s
telecommunications and digital development agenda.
