The Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs of Senegal (MCTN), through its Directorate of Telecommunications, has organized the third workshop under the PRP-2 Priority Programme of the New Deal Technologique, focusing on infrastructure, networks and universal connectivity.

The meeting centered on the development of a Digital Territorial Development Strategy, a major initiative aimed at establishing a coherent and shared vision for the expansion of digital infrastructure across Senegal.

According to the ministry, the strategy represents an important step toward ensuring balanced deployment of digital infrastructure nationwide while addressing disparities in connectivity between different regions of the country.

Officials noted that the initiative is also intended to strengthen digital resilience and sovereignty while supporting Senegal’s broader ambition to position itself as a regional digital hub within Africa’s growing digital economy.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders from across the digital ecosystem, including representatives of public institutions, the Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications et des Postes du Sénégal (ARTP), telecommunications operators, infrastructure providers, technical partners and private sector actors.

Participants discussed strategies to improve connectivity infrastructure, enhance coordination among sector players and create a framework that supports inclusive and sustainable digital development.

The ministry said the strong participation at the workshop reflects a shared commitment among stakeholders to build the foundations of a more connected, inclusive and competitive Senegal within the global digital landscape.
