The
Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital Affairs has held a
consultation workshop aimed at strengthening the role of the postal sector in
organizing and formalizing parcel and goods delivery services.
The
meeting, chaired by the ministry’s Secretary General, was organised in
collaboration with the Ministry of Land and Air Transport and brought together
representatives from the Road Traffic Directorate, delivery service
associations, La Poste Group, the national regulator and consumer associations.

Participants
noted that the delivery sector has experienced significant growth, driven
largely by the expansion of e-commerce and evolving consumer habits. The shift
has created new economic opportunities while also generating employment
prospects, particularly for young people.
During
the discussions, stakeholders emphasized the need to gradually structure the
rapidly growing sector in order to improve service quality, strengthen
coordination among operators and better support professionals working in the
industry.
Officials
highlighted that the postal sector, through La Poste, is expected to play a key
role in organizing last-mile logistics by leveraging its operational
experience, nationwide network and public service mandate.

The
workshop resulted in several measures, including the establishment of a digital
platform for the registration of delivery personnel, the creation of a
monitoring committee to oversee the implementation of recommendations and the
development of an operational roadmap for 2026.
Authorities
said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to revitalizing postal
services, modernizing distribution logistics and building a more structured and
efficient delivery ecosystem that benefits consumers, businesses and youth
employment.
