Togo Data Lab has organised the Data-Elles
initiative, bringing together about twenty young girls to promote women’s
participation in data science and technology.

Held under the theme “Data Science for Women:
Inspiring and Building the Future,” the event provided a platform for
inspiration, discovery, and empowerment. Participants were introduced to key
concepts in generative artificial intelligence, engaged in discussions with
female role models, and explored opportunities to develop their potential
within the digital ecosystem.
The initiative was implemented with support from GIZ Togo ProDigiT Project, reinforcing efforts
to advance inclusion and capacity building for women in technology.

Organisers
noted that Data-Elles is part of broader efforts to encourage young women to
pursue careers in tech, equipping them with knowledge and confidence to
actively shape the future of the digital economy.
