Former
Nigerian Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has held discussions with H.E.
Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone and current Chair of ECOWAS, on a
new initiative aimed at strengthening healthcare financing and health systems
across West Africa. The initiative, in partnership with Future Perspectives and
the Gates Foundation, seeks innovative approaches to support climate-resilient
health services in the region.

The
discussions also addressed the growing impact of climate change on agriculture
and food security, highlighting the need for robust, integrated systems to
mitigate these challenges.
Prof.
Osinbajo was joined by colleagues from Future Perspectives, including
co-founders Yemi Asekun and Abimbola Asekun, programme coordinator Mirya S.,
senior consultant Dr. Fatou Wurie, executive assistant Faridah Dikko, and
operational support consultant Adedotun Adebayo.

The
meeting underscored the importance of regional cooperation and innovative
solutions to enhance resilience in both health and food systems amid
climate-related pressures.
