INSA hosts cybersecurity forum to boost institutional resilience in Oromia

The Information Network Security Administration (INSA) has convened a consultative forum with leaders and experts from various bureaus of the Oromia Regional State to strengthen cyber resilience and promote the implementation of robust cybersecurity frameworks.

The session focused on the adoption of cybersecurity standards, the importance of readiness assessments, and raising overall cyber awareness across regional institutions. Eng. Jima Tulu, Deputy Head of the Oromia Science and Technology Authority, opened the forum by stressing that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility requiring close collaboration with INSA.

Participants discussed the critical role of cyber governance in protecting institutional operations and national sovereignty. They highlighted the strategic importance of understanding global cyber threats and emerging technologies to equip leadership with the capacity to defend their institutions proactively.

The forum also emphasized the need for regular Cybersecurity Readiness Assessments to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen institutional preparedness, ensuring that regional bodies remain resilient in an increasingly complex digital environment.
