from MTN Group has convened Chairpersons from across its Group Fintech markets
in Johannesburg for a high-level engagement session focused on strengthening
governance, alignment, and leadership across its operations.
The
Chairperson’s Engagement Session brought together board leaders from multiple
markets to reinforce shared stewardship and deepen collaboration at a time of
increasing complexity within the fintech landscape.

Group
Fintech Chairperson Herman Bosman emphasized the importance of values-driven
leadership at board level, noting that effective chairpersonship requires
clarity of purpose, sound judgment, and the ability to foster trust while
guiding organisations through evolving market conditions.

Fintech CEO Serigne Dioum highlighted the central role of trust in building a
scalable fintech platform, stating that alignment at the leadership level is
critical to delivering consistent, responsible, and reliable services across
diverse markets.

The
session also featured keynote remarks from Reuel Khoza, who underscored the
importance of principled and reflective leadership in shaping organisational
culture and strengthening institutional trust. He encouraged chairpersons to
apply governance principles actively in guiding boards and decision-making
processes.
