The
Regional African Satellite Communication Organisation (RASCOM) has continued to
deepen industry engagement as the 2026 NewSpace Africa Conference in Libreville,
Gabon approaches its conclusion.
Director
General Timothy Ashong hosted a high-level meeting with representatives from
Thales Alenia Space, reinforcing collaboration between African satellite
stakeholders and global industry leaders.

The
delegation from Thales Alenia Space included Fabien Bortoluzzi, Managing
Director for West and Central Africa, and Matthieu Dabin, responsible for Sales
and Marketing and Business Development.
Also
present at the meeting was RASCOM’s Director of Finance, Michael Coulibaly,
reflecting the organisation’s strategic focus on partnerships that support
sustainable growth and investment in Africa’s satellite and space ecosystem.

The
engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by RASCOM to strengthen collaboration,
foster innovation, and position satellite technology as a key driver of
connectivity and digital transformation across the continent.
