The African Telecommunications Union has held bilateral discussions with the Republic of Cabo Verde aimed at enhancing the country’s engagement in regional and global telecommunications processes.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the International Telecommunication Union Council, brought together ATU Secretary General John Omo and Clara Delgado Jesus.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between ATU and Cabo Verde to support the country’s active participation in ITU programmes, platforms, and decision-making processes.

The engagement also addressed membership-related matters and explored practical measures to enhance Cabo Verde’s involvement in ATU’s regional coordination initiatives, as well as broader ICT policy discussions at the international level.

ATU indicated that the dialogue reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting African countries in aligning national digital priorities with regional frameworks and global ICT governance structures.

The organization reaffirmed its role as a key partner for member states seeking to deepen engagement in international telecommunications policy and advance digital development objectives.
