China Mobile has announced plans to accelerate its transformation from a traditional telecommunications operator into a world-class sci-tech service enterprise as it expands investments in cloud computing, artificial intelligence and integrated digital infrastructure.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of China Mobile, Chen Zhongyue during the main forum of the 2026 Mobile Cloud Conference held in Suzhou, where he delivered a keynote speech titled “Mobile Cloud, Intelligent New Space.”

Chen said China Mobile will position communications services, computing services and AI services as its three principal business pillars as the company responds to growing demand for intelligent digital infrastructure in the AI era.

As part of its strategy, the company is accelerating the development of a nationwide integrated computing network and expanding all-optical high-speed interconnected computing infrastructure to support large-model AI training and intelligent agent development.

China Mobile is also deploying gigawatt-level green and low-carbon data centres aimed at delivering stable and efficient computing capabilities while supporting sustainable digital infrastructure development.

The company said it is strengthening full-stack innovation across communications, computing and artificial intelligence technologies through upgrades to its MoMA model service platform and the launch of the MobileClaw intelligent agent framework.

According to the company, these technologies are already being deployed across sectors including the industrial internet, cloud PCs and digital culture applications.

Looking ahead, China Mobile said it plans to work closely with industry partners through initiatives such as the “New Computing Power Momentum Action” and the “Intelligent New Space Plan” to build a more open, collaborative and innovation-driven intelligent ecosystem in support of China’s broader Digital China agenda.
