The ICT Authority has held discussions with Microsoft on potential collaboration aimed at advancing artificial intelligence and digital skills development programmes in Kenya.

The meeting brought together ICT Authority Chief Executive Officer Jessy Maruti and a delegation from Microsoft East Africa led by Mirna Arif.

The discussions focused on leveraging digital hubs and government enterprise infrastructure to support AI adoption, digital literacy, and technology capacity-building initiatives across the country.

According to the parties, the proposed initiatives are aligned with the government’s broader digital transformation agenda, which seeks to improve public service delivery, strengthen the digital economy, and create employment opportunities for citizens.

Other officials present during the engagement included Angela Nganga, Country Lead at Microsoft, Christopher Mukua, Account Lead for Public Sector, Malcom Kijirah from Government Affairs, and Gwen Waswa representing the Acting Director for Partnership, Innovation and Capacity.

The engagement reflects growing collaboration between the public and private sectors in supporting Kenya’s digital economy ambitions and expanding access to emerging technology skills.
