The
ICT Authority has held discussions with Microsoft on potential collaboration
aimed at advancing artificial intelligence and digital skills development
programmes in Kenya.
The
meeting brought together ICT Authority Chief Executive Officer Jessy Maruti and
a delegation from Microsoft East Africa led by Mirna Arif.
The
discussions focused on leveraging digital hubs and government enterprise
infrastructure to support AI adoption, digital literacy, and technology
capacity-building initiatives across the country.

According
to the parties, the proposed initiatives are aligned with the government’s
broader digital transformation agenda, which seeks to improve public service
delivery, strengthen the digital economy, and create employment opportunities
for citizens.
Other
officials present during the engagement included Angela Nganga, Country Lead at
Microsoft, Christopher Mukua, Account Lead for Public Sector, Malcom Kijirah
from Government Affairs, and Gwen Waswa representing the Acting Director for
Partnership, Innovation and Capacity.
The
engagement reflects growing collaboration between the public and private
sectors in supporting Kenya’s digital economy ambitions and expanding access to
emerging technology skills.
