Ethiopian
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has highlighted Ethiopia’s role in advancing green
industrialisation and energy transition during the ongoing Africa Forward
Summit 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The
summit, co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President
Emmanuel Macron, has brought together African and international leaders,
investors, and policymakers to discuss innovation, industrialisation, climate
action, and economic transformation across the continent.

Speaking
during a session focused on green industrialisation and energy transition, Abiy
shared Ethiopia’s experiences and perspectives on sustainable development and
clean energy initiatives.
The
Ethiopian leader stated that the country continues to play an important role in
advancing both green industrialisation and energy transition efforts, as
African nations increasingly pursue climate-conscious economic growth
strategies.

The
discussions formed part of broader conversations at the summit centred on
strengthening partnerships, mobilising investment, and accelerating sustainable
development across Africa.
