A Ghanaian delegation led by
the Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has
participated in the opening ceremony of the Global Symposium for Regulators
2026 in Ankara, Turkey.
The participation of the
delegation underscores Ghana’s continued commitment to contributing to global
discussions on digital technology, telecommunications policy and regulatory
frameworks.
The delegation joined
policymakers, regulators, industry leaders and technology experts from
different parts of the world at the opening of the symposium, which focuses on
addressing emerging issues within the global digital ecosystem.

Speaking on the sidelines of
the event, the Deputy Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to promoting
inclusive digital transformation, strengthening regulatory cooperation and
supporting innovation that contributes to economic growth and improved public
service delivery.
The Ministry noted that
government continues to prioritize the expansion of digital infrastructure,
enhancement of cybersecurity systems and the creation of an enabling
environment for technology startups and digital services.
This year’s symposium is
expected to address key issues including artificial intelligence governance,
spectrum management, digital inclusion and cross-border data flows. The forum
also provides regulators and stakeholders with an opportunity to exchange best
practices and discuss approaches to emerging technologies.

Ghana’s participation comes
as the country advances its Digital Ghana Agenda, which seeks to leverage
technology to improve sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture and
public administration.
The Ghanaian delegation is
also expected to hold bilateral engagements on the sidelines of the symposium
to explore partnerships and investment opportunities within Ghana’s growing
digital sector.
The symposium will continue
over the coming days with policy roundtables, technical workshops and
high-level discussions on the future of digital regulation globally.
