The 2026 edition of the MTN Bushfire Festival has officially commenced, bringing together artists, business leaders, development partners and festival-goers for a celebration of creativity, culture and community.

The opening day of the festival featured a series of discussions, networking engagements and cultural activities that underscored the event’s role as a platform for collaboration and social impact across Eswatini and the broader African region.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, MTN Group Regional General Manager for Operations and Commercial in the Southern, East Africa and Ghana Region, Jerry J. Soko, described the first day as an opportunity for meaningful conversations and connections among participants from diverse sectors and countries.

A key highlight of the opening day was the attendance of Eswatini’s Prime Minister, who addressed participants and reflected on the festival’s contribution to the lives and livelihoods of Emaswati. The remarks emphasized the economic, social and cultural value that the annual event continues to generate for communities across the country.

The MTN Bushfire Festival has grown into one of Africa’s leading cultural events, attracting local and international visitors while providing a platform for artists, entrepreneurs and organizations to engage on issues affecting society and development.

MTN and its partners are using the festival to strengthen engagement with customers, stakeholders and young people through a range of activities and interactive experiences. Among these is the MTN Pulse Stand, where festival attendees have been invited to connect with MTN representatives and discuss ideas, innovation and opportunities for collaboration.

Organizers expect activities to continue throughout the festival, with additional performances, exhibitions and discussions scheduled over the remaining days of the event.

The festival remains a significant cultural and economic platform for Eswatini, supporting creative industries, tourism and community development while fostering regional and international connections.
