MTN South Africa has officially launched the 2026 edition of its annual 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, marking 19 years of employee-led community development initiatives across the country.

The campaign was launched in Zandspruit under the theme, “Expanding Equitable Health for Every Community,” and focuses on improving healthcare access through digital connectivity, innovation and community engagement.

MTN is working in collaboration with government agencies, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and other partners to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to essential health services, particularly in underserved communities.

The initiative seeks to enhance the overall healthcare experience by supportingfrontline healthcare workers, restoring dignity in healthcare settings and expanding access to services through both physical and digital channels.

As part of the programme, MTN is leveraging connected technologies and artificial intelligence-enabled tools to help patients access healthcare services more efficiently. The company said digital solutions are being used to improve service delivery and facilitate access to health information and support systems.

Through its partnership with UNFPA, the initiative extends beyond healthcare facilities by providing digital platforms and referral pathways that offer trusted and confidential health information. Particular attention is being given to young people and vulnerable communities that often face barriers in accessing healthcare resources.

Speaking at the launch, MTN Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Nompilo Morafo, said the campaign is focused on improving the quality and experience of care while ensuring communities have access to the support, services and information they need.

The 21 Days of Y’ello Care programme is MTN’s flagship employee volunteerism initiative and forms part of the company’s broader commitment to supporting social development and sustainable community impact across its markets.
