MTN Benin has officially launched the 2026 edition of its annual 21 Days of Y’ello Care initiative, beginning with a nationwide blood donation campaign aimed at supporting healthcare delivery and saving lives across the country.

The launch ceremony, held under the theme "Health for All," brought together government officials, development partners, healthcare professionals and MTN employees to mark the start of the company’s flagship employee volunteerism programme.

Among the dignitaries present were the World Health Organization (WHO) Resident Representative, the Ambassador of South Africa to Benin, the Director General of the National Blood Transfusion Agency (ANTS) representing the Minister of Health, and Professor Michel-Armand Fiogbé representing the National University Hospital Centre Hubert Koutoukou Maga (CNHU-HKM).

Speaking at the event, MTN Benin Chief Executive Officer Uche Ofodile emphasized the importance of equitable access to healthcare, noting that every child deserves the opportunity to receive the care needed to grow and thrive.

The 2026 Y’ello Care programme will focus on a range of health interventions, including support for 120 children living with congenital malformations, the national blood donation campaign, the renovation of a healthcare facility, and strengthened collaboration with stakeholders in the health sector.

The launch of the blood donation drive served as the first major activity of the campaign, symbolizing collective action and solidarity in addressing critical healthcare needs.

MTN Benin said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to improving community wellbeing and supporting national efforts to expand access to quality healthcare services.
