Huawei
Cloud Sub-Saharan Africa has emphasized the growing importance of artificial
intelligence security and governance as enterprises increasingly integrate AI
into core business operations and decision-making processes.
Speaking
at the second day of the ITWeb Security Summit 2026, Huawei Cloud Sub-Saharan
Africa Chief Technology Officer Lunga delivered a keynote address titled “From
AI Hype to AI Accountability: Securing What We Can No Longer Control Blindly.”
During
the presentation, Lunga noted that AI has moved beyond the experimental stage
and is now embedded across enterprise environments, creating new opportunities
while introducing complex security and governance challenges. He highlighted
the increasing regulatory focus on AI, noting that more than 70 countries have
introduced AI-related regulations.
According
to Huawei Cloud, the evolving landscape is transforming cybersecurity from a
traditional operational expense into a strategic enabler of innovation and
business growth.
The
company also unveiled five major upgrades to its AI security portfolio aimed at
helping organizations strengthen governance, protect data, and secure AI-driven
applications and services.
Huawei
Cloud said its approach focuses on combining cloud infrastructure with
integrated security capabilities, enabling enterprises to manage cloud
migration, data protection, and AI deployment while maintaining trust,
compliance, and operational resilience.
The
company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting organizations as they navigate
the opportunities and risks associated with the rapid adoption of artificial
intelligence technologies across industries.
