The second edition of the
Effective Communicators Conference is set to take place in Swakopmund from July
14 to 17, 2026, bringing together communication professionals, government
officials and industry leaders from across the region to discuss strategies for
strengthening public communication.
Speaking at the launch of
the conference, Namibia’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology,
Emma Theofelus, stressed the critical role of effective communication in
fostering understanding, alignment and trust between public institutions and
citizens.
The minister noted that
communication remains a fundamental component of governance and public service
delivery, emphasizing that meaningful engagement between institutions and the
public is essential for building confidence and ensuring that citizens remain
informed about government policies and services.
The conference is being
organized by the Namibia Press Agency, whose Acting Chief Executive Officer,
Jata Kazondu, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Information and
Communication Technology for its continued support of the initiative.
Kazondu said the ministry’s
backing has helped establish the conference as a key platform for communication
professionals to exchange ideas, share experiences and improve institutional
communication practices.
Organizers expect the 2026
edition to attract approximately 1,000 delegates and around 25 speakers from 12
countries. Participants will include professionals from the media, public
relations, marketing and government sectors, as well as representatives from
state-owned enterprises and private organizations.
The conference will focus on
sharing best practices, exploring emerging communication trends and
strengthening engagement strategies aimed at improving communication across
public and private institutions.
Organizers say the event
will provide an opportunity for participants to discuss the evolving
communication landscape and identify approaches that can enhance transparency,
public trust and effective information dissemination across Namibia and the
broader region.
