Angola’s National Space Programme Management Office (GGPEN) has showcased a range of space-based technologies and digital solutions to Banco Sol as both organisations explored opportunities to apply satellite and geospatial technologies in the country’s financial sector.

A delegation from Banco Sol, led by Chairman of the Executive Committee Osvaldo Macaia, visited GGPEN’s headquarters to gain insights into technologies developed under Angola’s National Space Programme and discuss their potential use in banking and business operations.

The GGPEN delegation, led by Director General Zolana João, presented key initiatives and platforms built around space technology, including Earth observation systems, geospatial data solutions, artificial intelligence applications, satellite connectivity enabled by ANGOSAT-2, and geospatial tools designed to support strategic decision-making.

During the engagement, officials highlighted how space technologies can be used to improve data analysis, optimise business processes and support the development of innovative financial products and services.

The visit also provided Banco Sol with an opportunity to assess the potential of satellite-enabled solutions in strengthening operational efficiency and expanding digital capabilities within the banking sector.
