Guinea’s Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Djami Diallo, has been appointed as the country’s new Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, following a decision by President Mamadi Doumbouya and the Prime Minister.

Diallo announced her appointment, expressing gratitude for the renewed confidence placed in her by the Guinean leadership and acknowledging the responsibility that comes with the new role.

She thanked her former collaborators and technical and financial partners at the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development for their support and contributions during her tenure.

The newly appointed minister said she will approach her new mandate with the same commitment, discipline and determination, focusing on strengthening Guinea’s higher education system and advancing scientific research.

Diallo’s appointment comes as Guinea continues efforts to improve human capital development, enhance research capacity and create stronger links between education, innovation and national development.

She said her priority will be to contribute to building a more effective higher education and scientific research sector that supports young people and advances Guinea’s development objectives.
