Uganda's Ministry of ICT and
National Guidance has continued its familiarisation visits to agencies under
its portfolio with a visit to Vision Group, aimed at strengthening
collaboration between government and the country's media and ICT sectors.
The delegation was led by
the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba,
and included the Minister of State for Information, Hon. Joyce Nabosa
Ssebugwawo, and the Minister of State for National Guidance, Hon. Alioni Yorke
Odria.
During the visit, the
ministers engaged with the leadership of Vision Group to gain a better
understanding of the organisation's mandate, operations, achievements, and
strategic priorities.
The engagement also provided
an opportunity to discuss the role of the media in supporting Uganda's digital
transformation agenda and promoting national development through effective
information dissemination and digital innovation.
The Ministry said the visit
underscores the government's commitment to fostering closer collaboration with
institutions across the ICT and media landscape as it works to strengthen the
country's digital ecosystem.
The familiarisation visits
form part of the Ministry's broader efforts to engage agencies under its
oversight, enhance coordination, and align sector priorities with Uganda's
national development objectives.
