Fidelity Bank Ghana has
partnered with the European Union and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the
Netherlands in Ghana to implement a €6.67 million Green Innovation Fund aimed
at supporting businesses developing sustainable solutions and contributing to
Ghana’s transition to a greener economy.
The fund was launched during
the European Union in Ghana session at the Ghana Industrial Summit & Exhibition
2026, organised by the Association of Ghana Industries Accra.
Julian Opuni, Managing
Director of Fidelity Bank Ghana, said the initiative builds on the bank’s
previous partnership through the Orange Corners Innovation Fund, which since
2019 has supported 154 Ghanaian entrepreneurs with more than GHS 17.5 million
in funding.
The support has covered
businesses across sectors including technology, agriculture, waste management
and renewable energy.
The Green Innovation Fund
will build on that work by supporting businesses developing sustainable
solutions, creating jobs and strengthening Ghana’s transition to a greener
economy.
Fidelity Bank Ghana is
serving as an implementing partner for the new fund, alongside the European
Union and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana.
Opuni said the partnership
reflects Fidelity Bank’s belief that the right financing, expertise and
partnerships can help turn innovative ideas into businesses that create lasting
impact.
He expressed appreciation to
the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the French
Embassy, RVO, Growth Africa and the wider ecosystem for their continued trust
and collaboration.
